Reservation Policy
Call the toll free number – 1-800-91-GoCar – to reserve a date and time. You may also book your tour online. If you stop by our shop, we'll do everything we can to accommodate you if we have a car available. We do, however, recommend booking in advance to guarantee a car. Is English not your first language? Our GoCars also speak Italian, Spanish, French and German.
Requirements:
Please make a reservation at least 24-hours in advance. Your name, the number of people in you party and a cell phone number will be requested as well. Your reservation is secured in advance by any major credit card.
Renters must present a valid drivers license and be at least 18 years of age. We will use our discretion, however, with people under the age of 21, especially with larger groups.
All renters must be able to read, understand and sign the GoCar liability release and waiver form.
Payment and Security Deposit:
You will need to present a major credit card for a $400 refundable security deposit. An imprint of the renter’s credit card, along with a completed and signed rental agreement and liability waiver are required prior to the release of the vehicle.
- For vehicle insurance, as with rental cars, the driver can elect to purchase the collision damage waiver (CDW) - $9 per GoCar, covering the car for the day, limiting liability to $300.
- The renter takes responsibility for the GoCar and their actions while driving the GoCar.
Safety:
Helmets are provided and are required by California law. All riders receive a full orientation.
Where can you go:
Exploring San Francisco is easy and fun with a GoCar. You can choose to follow the tour, or you can take your own tour of the city. Cars are not allowed on Interstates or on the Golden Gate or Bay Bridges.
Parking:
GoCars can be parked in Motorcycle Parking or can legally share a metered parking space with a car if the meter is fed and the car isn’t blocked.
Departure points:
GoCar has two locations. You can pick up and drop off from either one.

Getting there:
GoCar has two convenient locations - at the heart of Fisherman's Wharf and just off Union Square.
GoCar Fisherman's Wharf has limited amount of paid parking available on-site, with more nearby. The GoCar Union Square location is adjacent to a public parking garage.
Both locations are easily accessed and close to public transportation:
